Round Dance 2016

round danceEvery winter, Na-Me-Res proudly partners with Anishnawbe Health and Ryerson University Round Dance to host a Round Dance in honour of community partnerships. This is a family-friendly evening event with prayer, song, dance, and a community feast. Similar to our Annual Traditional Pow Wow, the Round Dance gathers the Aboriginal community of Toronto to celebrate our unity, strength, and diversity.

Originally a healing dance, the Round Dance has become a ceremonial and social event that connects our community during the cold and dark winter months.

The Round Dance is open to everyone. During the central dance, dancers are encouraged to join hands and form a large circle, celebrating equality and unity. They dance to a singular beat played in unison by the drummers. All singers are welcome and will be acknowledged.

Any donations on the day directly support Na-Me-Res programming.

Please be aware that this is a dry event (alcohol and drugs are prohibited).
